When you are running an organization based on self-management, you are taking away managers. One of the main responsibilities of managers is resolving conflicts, so without a manager, you need to define a different mechanism for conflict resolution. We decided to use to resolve conflicts based on a vote that factor people merit in relevant competencies and skillset. This system is used by hierarchal companies as well. They see it as a better decision making than one guy biased and limited knowledge decision.
